Interesting sites

Posted on December 15th, 2004, in the evening

Three interesting sites I've stumbled upon recently:

  • Jade Tree Records

Don't know too much about this label, but the site is nice, and they have full track downloads of all their artists, most notably Pedro the Lion. I've heard Pedro the Lion mentioned in so many good contexts that it's almost a relief to finally hear the music. Worth the wait too.

  • J K Rowling

...of Harry Potter fame. Normally I would be put off by a site that uses so much Flash and is so utterly unintuitive to navigate at first glance; indeed, I clicked 'text only' first time I visited. But I'm so glad I went back and tried the Flash version. It's a beautifully conceived site, full of puzzles and hidden extras, with a much better than average selection of biography and FAQ material - genuinely personal.

  • Relevant Magazine

A US Christian magazine...stay with me if that sounds precisely not what you'd want to look at. Relevant is cut from a different cloth than anything else I've seen - it's probably easier for you to see for yourself rather than have me try to expain how. The site's a bit sluggish (particularly on dial-up), but the articles make it worth the visit (the 'God', 'Life' and 'Progressive Culture' links at the side rather than the top seem to be the ones to click).

What is this?
