The Burning Question
Posted on July 28th, 2005, in the small hours
From a fantastically strange Times article last week:
Were the President of the United States ever to yield to pressure from fundamentalist Christian objectors and order every copy of Harry Potter to be burnt, global warming would increase by 2.7 per cent. Even on the most optimistic estimate, this would leave only the top 18.7 metres of the Blackpool Tower visible.

There it is. No can do.
I must say I absolutely love Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I think it rivals Prisoner of Azkaban as the best in the series so far. JK Rowling's no-nonsense prose at its most articulate, and her deftness of touch in plot development reaching new heights (or at the very least recovering after the slightly flabby Order of the Phoenix). Can't wait for Book 7.
