Pandora

I've recently been pointed in the direction of pandora.com. What an amazing service! It's a kind of custom radio station. You type in an artist or song you like and it plays similar tracks. The genius is that rather than just lumping bands together in genres, the site analyses each track and plays songs that are sonically similar. You can tell Pandora whether or not you like the songs it offers and future selections are focused accordingly.

Tragically the site requires registration after about five or six songs and due to licencing issues only US residents can register. All you have to do is enter a US postcode, so it's probably as simple as 'moving' to 90210 to get around that, but...?!

They say they're working on international licences. I hope one gets sorted for the UK soon!
