This morning was a Kings meeting at our best: the worship was rich, with several excellent contributions, and Bob Fyall was inspiring on Luke 15.
I knew I knew what songs to sing today. In fact, I had a strange new experience planning worship this week: I planned two whole sets on the same theme and wasn't sure which to go with until I woke up this morning. This morning I was sure.
I told people before we began that I'd been planning worship around our hope for salvation, which I think helped focus things greatly. Perhaps it should be obvious that telling people where you think things are going means they are better able to contribute, but it's taken me long enough to think of it! It's probably a legacy in me of the idea that spontaneous equals spiritual; there's a lingering fear that if I tell people what I have planned it will make it less spiritual. Plainly that's ridiculous.
Anyway... excellent stuff!
