Worship Setlist - Jun 11, 2006
Posted on June 12th, 2006, in the morning
Sunday morning at Kings
- There's a pageant of triumph in glory - David Fellingham
- Praise Him, you heavens - Russell Fragar
- Crown him with many crowns
- O sacred King - Matt Redman
- Jesus, holy and anointed - John Barnett
- Here is love, vast as the ocean
- On the bloodstained ground - Graham Kendrick
- Over all the earth - Brenton Brown
The combination of hot weather and (nearly) the end of the university term made for a sleepy kind of Sunday yesterday, but it was still a good morning.
There's a pageant really is a great song, and Crown him with many crowns also went well. I used Graham Kendrick's On the bloodstained ground as a meditation while we were taking communion together; it was too hot to be very meditative, but it's a good song and I'm glad to introduce it to our repertoire.
That's my last time leading at Kings for a few weeks. Other worship leaders are available now and I'm away for two weeks fairly soon.
It's been an interesting experience leading for so many weeks consecutively. Planning worship for a whole term is very different from simply preparing one morning's setlist. I've greatly enjoyed planning material over eight weeks - particularly our use of hymns - and it's been very helpful to have the opportunity to consistently emphasise some of the things that are becoming distinctives for us as a congregation.
I can't say I won't be glad of the rest, but it really has been an excellent term!
