A lot of singing this morning! Which, having woken up with a croaking sore throat, felt like quite a feat. But the meeting was excellent. Ruth preached on David and as we responded with "I will worship with all of my heart" lots of people came forward to receive prayer. We carried on some time after we usually end, finally concluding with David's own words from Psalm 25 in "To you, O Lord".
It was great to use "And he shall reign" earlier in the set, one of my favourite modern hymns. The third verse is absolutely beautiful:
On the throne forever
See the Lamb who once was slain
Wounds of sacrificial love
Forever shall remain
