FreeRice

FreeRice is a web-based vocabulary game. For every correct definition you give, advertising money provides 10 grains of rice to the United Nations World Food Program*.
The game responds very well to your level of vocabulary. After quickly pitching your initial level you then advance a level with three correct answers but drop back a level with only one mistake. It's a surprisingly efficient way of judging the upper limit of your vocabulary. Words range from "silent" at level 1 through to "ratiocinate" at level 43 which is about my limit.
