Communion today, a good although perhaps unexceptional meeting.
We're shifting the format of the service to allow more time for response after the sermon. I think that adjustment plus an unfamiliar song or two plus low August congregation numbers made things a little subdued - fewer people contributing than usual. But there was still a healthy sense of 'yes' to God as we worshipped.
Three years ago during my first summer at Kings, the August meetings would sometimes be as low as 25-30 people and it was definitely hard to feel a sense of momentum. The healthy meeting with something under 100 people this morning is quite a good measure of how far things have come over that time.
