Sunday morning at Kings

  • Great is your faithfulness - Chris Tomlin
  • Praise him, you heavens - Russell Fragar
  • From the squalor of a borrowed stable - Stuart Townend
  • Here I am to worship - Tim Hughes
  • We have known forgiveness - Chris Juby
  • King of kings, majesty - Jarrod Cooper
  • The Servant King - Graham Kendrick
  • I will offer up my life - Martin Smith
  • I'm gonna trust in God - Steve Earl

I began picking up some of the advent themes this morning - Light of the World, From the Squalor, The Servant King - and all woven in with the themes from the last in our Colossians preaching series. I think it pretty much came off too!

'From the Squalor' is a Kings favourite but we only really do it around Christmas time. I think I've finally nailed the timing of the fourth line going into the fifth which we've always had trouble with, even when I'm absolutely certain of what I'm trying to do going into it.

That's the last obvious time to sing 'We have known forgiveness', which I wrote for the Colossians series. People either seem to really like it or not really get it at all. I guess it's slightly more distinctive than many contemporary songs. Perhaps I went too gospel (for our normal tone at Kings) with it. Time will now tell whether it becomes a more permenant addition to the repertoire...

What is this?
