A good morning, the first out of term-time.
I was disproportionately irritated by a few things just before the meeting. It's a battle to keep focussed when that happens. It's not always possible to deal with things well immediately and leading worship is awful if you're not sure you have integrity.
I find more and more that it's only possible to lead well when circumstances are not favourable by being able to draw on deeper resources of God's overall work in my life. Not an easy thing, though, and it does leave me feeling very vulnerable.
I'd dealt with things well enough during the meeting that the final block was unhindered. We had a smaller band this week, which gave lots of space for the slower, more devotional tone. There was rich response to Mark's sermon on the woman who anoints Jesus with nard.
