Worthily Magnify blog
Posted on October 21st, 2009, in the morning
Google Reader recently recommended the Worthily Magnify blog to me. I'm passing that recommendation on...
A guy called Jamie Brown writes the blog, he's the Associate Director of Worship and Music at The Falls Church in Falls Church, Virginia. His tagline is 'Helping worship leaders lead well' and to that end he writes very practical posts on various aspects of worship leading.
His recent 'Top 10 ways to make your congregation stop singing' convinced me to put the link up here. Really sensible advice. And his "C to shining C" rule is a lot catchier than my own "middle C to the D an octave and two steps above".
Looking back through his archives there are equally great posts ranging from 'Handling awkward moments - breaking a string' to 'When is it ok to use humour?' to challenges like 'Do you despise instruction?'.
A real warmth and humility comes through everything on the blog, and a clear desire to glorify God and build up the church in what we do as worship leaders.
