A good morning. Down in numbers due to a wedding down South yesterday, but real energy among those who were there.
Our morning preaching series is on Hebrews at the moment. I'm really enjoying preparing worship to support and respond to the themes of that book. We were in Chapter 8 this morning - shadows and realities and Jesus' priesthood - so 'In the silence' fit perfectly as response. Matt Redman's 'Nothing but the blood' into 'Everyone needs compassion was a nice move too.
It was Remembrance Sunday today. I made gentle reference to that theme starting with 'Crown him', particularly highlighting the verse "Crown him the Lord of peace, whose power a sceptre sways/From pole to pole that wars may cease and all be prayer and praise."
